A vineyard is only fun if there is a great place to appreciate it from. This project expanded an early 20th century brick house for the client’s entertaining and weekend get away needs. While maximizing views toward the tailored vineyard, adjacent river and verdant landscape, the generous and airy addition was designed to become the new heart of the house.
The ground floor contains the new kitchen, dining and informal living spaces along with a 2 story enclosed rear porch and terrace. Connecting the floors with a lantern-like stairwell, the second floor contains two guest bedrooms and a bath. The third floor tower suite is a private retreat for family and guests alike to escape and look out over the vineyard and river with a glass of wine and a book.
